INSTALLATION GUIDE

1. Install end or corner post straight and plumb.

2. Use a string line to ensure fence is straight.

3. Dig hole 10 feet on center (O/C) and 27 inches deep to ensure bottom rail is approximately 12 inches above ground.

4. After corner or end post is installed, slide rails into corner post holes and then into the holes of the second post. Note: Ensure widest side of rail is up.

5. Tamp the dirt around each post after the rails are installed. Note: Be sure to hill the dirt around the posts for proper drainage away from the post.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION TIPS

1. On long runs of fencing, only pre-drill no more than 7 - 10 holes at 10 foot centers. Due to varying thickness of the posts, this could put your holes off center with actual rail spacings.

2. On the 3 rail fence (even the 2 rail fence), a jig to hold the rails at the proper spacings could be quite useful.

3. Mounding the dirt around the posts allows the water to drain away from the posts.

4. If for whatever reason a rail breaks, dig an opening on the inside or outside of the post. Pull the post towards you and insert a new rail. Push the post back into alignment with fence and re-tamp around the post.

5. If you encounter a very large rock close to the bottom of the hole, simply measure the distance from the rock to where the top of the post would lie. That distance is measured onto the post and the difference is cut off at the bottom of the post.
